Rehabilitation and renewal Design and efficiency for your facade Refurbishment works are those interventions that are carried out on a building through the introduction of new elements or facilities in order to improve the conditions of the building in terms of health, habitability, safety, energy efficiency, etc. The replacement of the old materials, already worn out or with deficiencies, by new ones adapted to the current needs of the building to be rehabilitated means, in itself, an improvement in the conditions of habitability. If, in addition, the transformation of the façade also means an improvement in terms of energy consumption, thermal or sound insulation, aesthetic improvement, etc., the value of the building is increased and the comfort of its inhabitants and their quality of life improved. Aluminium composite panel inrehabilitations: Due to its conditions as a material, the aluminium composite panel is presented as the most suitable option in terms of quality, price and performance in the market, since it favours the thermal efficiency of the facades and improves their insulation. Its versatility in terms of assembly systems and finishes provides a large number of creative construction possibilities. Whether it is the rehabilitation of a house or a residential building, an industrial or commercial building, through the study of the structure of the building and its special needs, thanks to the STACBOND® composite panel it is possible to give an old building a completely renovated appearance and to improve its conditions of habitability and use. Main advantages: Structural lightweight The use of optimized aluminum substructures allows us to achieving a significant reduction in weight, making it the ideal choice for renovations on existing sites. The low density of aluminium, its strength, ductility and malleability make it an optimal material for using in the design of ventilated facades Energy efficiency The ventilated facade creates an air chamber that ensures continuous ventilation over the entire surface of the facade, resulting in a chimney effect which generates a thermal mattress. This solution allows energy savings of 30% (approx.) compared to conventional facades. Finishes in the same material Due to their great material adaptation, the modulations of the facades covered with aluminium composite panel can use the same material to make their crowns and closures, either through independent recercades of the pieces themselves, or with the resolution, through the folding, of the panel itself according to its structure. Correction of imperfections Ventilated facade systems in composite panels are allowed to correct unevenness and imperfections, as well as to completely change the shape of the base facade. Easy to clean and maintain Dirty and stained areas can be cleaned with a soft brush and water, from top to bottom. Water under moderate pressure can also be used. The surface has to be rinsed afterwards. High durability Due to the latest material innovations, the aluminium composite panel has a very long service life without suffering corrosion or erosion. Recent studies on building materials guarantee the durability of aluminium in building facades. Full rehabilitation process Thermographic analysis of the facade Infrared thermography is a technique that captures the thermal radiation emitted by a body or object and transforms it into an image. It can be used for a multitude of situations, such as installations, construction, industrial mechanics, etc. The thermographic camera points at the body to be studied, without coming into contact with it. The result will be a thermographic image that will show us the different temperatures in the specific area or in the installation while it is working. Its main advantages are: Easy study to perform, which doesn’t require any building work, sampling or tasting. It is not destructive, it does not interrupt any production process and it is working while other works are being carried out without causing any damage. It reduces analysis costs by quickly locating all breakdowns and faults, thus reducing maintenance actions. It helps to optimize the resources available to use energy more efficiently, achieving greater energy savings and a lower environmental impact. Within a process of integral rehabilitation, thermographic analysis contributes to: Visualizing energy losses Detecting insulation faults Locate air leaks Find moisture cores, both in the inner and outer structure Locate thermal bridges Locate water leaks on flat roofs Detecting breaks and leaks in hot water pipes Detecting electrical or construction faults Laser scanner facade study The laser scanner is a tool that allows us to build, through the collection of a large amount of data, the BIM model of a building by using a point cloud. Its operation starts with the emission of a laser from a distance meter that bounces off a point and returns delivering information about the point studied. At the same time, its scanning system analyzes the light beam’s exit angles. In a few minutes, the laser scanner is capable of analysing the entire façade, creating a point cloud with millimetric precision that informs us about the entire map of the building. Currently, this type of technology is one of the most widely used for obtaining an accurate photograph of the building which is going to be renovated, as it facilitates the modelling and study of the construction systems in order to proposing a solution for the renovation. Point cloud representation and modeling Once the sweep is completed, the result obtained it is a millions of points map represented on a coordinate axis, their reflectance and colour, data that is used to work on the full-scale modelling of the building with a high level of precision. This scan is very useful to study and determine exactly the most suitable systems for the renovation, also showing up some kind of obstacles that couldn’t be found by using outdated measurement methods. Using specific software, a complete model of the building in its current state can be created and, from there, using this information in order to offering different proposals for the development of the reform. Reform proposals Unlike other materials for covering facades, the use of STACBOND® composite panels in a renovation allows for infinite possibilities of finishes, transformations and morphologies.
